DOT & Legal Truck Lettering
DOT & Legal Commercial Vehicle Lettering in NYC
If your truck, van or pickup has commercial plates, the law says it has to be lettered — and in New York City it gets enforced. Vinyl Images has been installing legal lettering on commercial vehicles since 1995, and we come to you anywhere in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island.
What Your Vehicle Needs
Depending on your vehicle and how it’s used, legal lettering can include:
- Company name and address on both doors – required on commercial-plated vehicles in NYC.
- USDOT number – on both sides of the vehicle, for carriers that are required to have one.
- GVW / GVWR and other markings required by your carrier, insurer or contract.
Not sure what applies to you? Call us – we’ll help you figure out the right lettering and make sure it’s sized and placed correctly.
It’s the Law!
If you have commercial license plates in NYC, you are required to have your address on your doors in 3″ letters or you will be ticketed.
All 5 boroughs require both doors of your truck, van or pickup to carry your legal address in 3″ letters, and they are VERY strict about it.
Contact us today to avoid a ticket.
Fast, Clean & Built to Last
Legal lettering is quick to install, and we can do it at your location – often in the same visit as your logo or door graphics. Cut vinyl lettering typically lasts 7 to 8 years or longer.
